When I was growing up, there were four Canadian children’s entertainers who really left a mark on me and influenced me in a positive way – Raffi, Paul Hann, Sharon Lois & Bram, and Fred Penner.  On today’s show, I got to speak with one of my childhood heroes!

Fred’s career has spanned four decades and he continues to entertain children today. But he also provides inspiration and great memories to people like me who grew up with his music, and he’s finding additional success playing shows for adults.  I asked him about his success on college campuses, among other things, in my chat with him this morning:

Fred Penner is playing two shows at Canmore’s Communitea Cafe on Friday.  You’d better believe I’ll be taking my little guy Ben to this one – I’ll be having just as much fun as him listening to the great tunes of my childhood!
