He may not live here anymore but he’ll always be a huge part of the Banff music scene!  Brad Brewer stopped by the studio en route to Banff from a successful week-long stint at the Calgary Stampede.  Brad now calls Melbourne, Australia home but couldn’t be in this part of the world and not come back to town!  He’ll be live in concert at Wild Bill’s tonight, with opening act Three Sisters Brothers kicking things off at around 9:30 PM.

Brad was also in studio for a more personal reason.  Earlier this year I posted a story about Dennis Vilich, a boy I went to school with who bullied me, befriended me, and then tragically died in a car accident at the age of 10.  Brad read my story and felt a strong connection to his own past, which inspired a new song called The Mucky Bottom.  I was truly honoured and moved to hear him perform the song live in studio.

Part of the reason I wrote the story about Dennis was because I felt the world had forgotten about this young boy who had such a profound impact on my life.  Having his story immortalized in song like this means so much to me.  Thank you, Brad, for your music, and really looking forward to hearing your new album when it’s finished!
