Believe it or not, I grew up in the Foothills of the Rockies and didn't learn to ski until I was 27!! Apparently my older sister tried to take me when I was a kid but I complained about being cold too much. So I grew up swimming instead, and although I loved the mountains, I only went in the summer.
Thankfully I have lots of friends who do ski, so eventually they just stuck me on a bunny hill and said “Don't hit any kids on the way down”. I didn't. Since that day I was hooked, and now you'll find me at Sunshine or Louise as often as I can go.
When I'm not working or skiing, I also like to go dirt-biking, or walking with my dog, Jessie. Mr. Gibson and I love animals (I call him the snake whisperer because I think a snake would cuddle with him if he picked one up).
I also like to paint watercolours, and some of my best paintings are of the mountains in this area. I even sold one at a garage sale once, which didn't make my younger sister too happy because it was supposed to be a gift for her. Oops.
Charities that matter most to me include: The Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, Canadian Mental Health Association, Easter Seals, and any Humane Society.
