Banff Forum 2

Despite one notable absence at the candidates table it was a great night at the final Banff-Airdrie federal election forum at the Banff High School Thursday night.

Organized by the Banff & Lake Louise Hospitality Association and AMPEE in conjunction with the Rocky Mountain Outlook, it was more a discussion than debate with the candidates covering a wide range of topics based on prepared questions and spontaneous ones from the audience.  Subjects included labour and the Temporary Foreign Worker program, affordable housing, the environment, economy, multiculturalism, our international reputation, and our National Parks system.

After the forum I had a chance to speak with all three candidates in attendance.  You can listen to those interviews below.

Liberal Party candidate Marlo Raynolds

NDP candidate Joanne Boissonneault

Green Party candidate Mike MacDonald

Incumbent Conservative candidate Blake Richards was not in attendance so I didn’t get the opportunity to speak with him last night.  You can find out more about him and his platform here.
