High Rollers, Banff’s fantastic new pub, restaurant, and 10 Pin Bowling alley is now open! You’ll be amazed at what they’ve done with the old Aurora Nightclub space below the Clock Tower Mall on Banff Avenue.

As a semi-regular patron of the Aurora in my 20s walking down the staircase from the front entrance brought back familiar memories of vodka slimes, cigarette smoke, and bad decisions.  But that trip down memory lane ended immediately after setting foot at the bottom in front of the rack of bowling shoes.  The Banff Hospitality Collective has completely redesigned the old nightclub into something fresh and completely unique in the Bow Valley and quite possibly beyond.  To your left, a stylistic bar with nearly 50 beers on tap, many of which were from craft brewers I’d never heard of.  Beyond that, a spacious pub and dining area with a DJ booth that will make High Rollers rival any other drinking and dining establishment in Banff even without the added main feature to the right…six brand new 10 Pin Bowling lanes!  If that wasn’t enough, at the far end of the room you’ll find Bocce and Hoops.

What really impressed me was the food.  High Rollers has turned ‘Bowling Alley Food’ into inspiration for a theme rather than just your typical burgers and hot dogs endlessly rotating on heated metal spikes. Here you’ll find huge pizzas in a variety of flavours, their own take on poutine (it’s spicy!), hearty sandwiches, and more.  You’ve never eaten this well at a bowling alley before.

Banff Hospitality Collective CEO Mike Mendelman talks about their new venue and says the response so far has been beyond their expectations.

Pins, pints, and pizza!  High Rollers is now open daily for bowling, dining, and more.  From what I hear it’s been busy with regular wait lists for bowling.  For locals, weekdays might be your best bet if you want to roll a few balls until they get their reservation system up and running.
