While I was Ireland, their highways had these S.O.S phones every 2-5kms for road incidents. I think we could convert these into “Wildlife S.O.S” phones.

Given all the sad wildlife news we’ve had recently, I think we should install “Wildlife S.O.S” phones in the Bow Valley along highways, hiking paths and campgrounds. If wildlife is spotted in an area where harm could come to it, or humans, one would use the phone to report it so we can get crews to the area clear it quickly and give the animal space.

I’m pretty sick of hearing all the sad outcomes that follow human-wildlife interactions. What else could we do to curb these awful outcomes?
