The newest character in the Marvel Comic universe may surprise you: it’s Prime Minister Justin Trudeau. Canada’s Prime Minister will grace the cover of Marvel’s “Civil War II: Choosing Sides” comic coming out August 31st.

Standing behind him are Puck, Sasquatch and Aurora, members of Canadian superhero squad Alpha Flight, with Iron Man in the left corner, with his arms crossed.

The Trudeau cover will be released as a variant cover of the comic, the other one will feature Nick Fury instead.

The story involves a new Marvel character, Ulysses, who has extremely accurate precognitive ability. But is it ethically right to use him to stop disasters and capture people? When the group Alpha Flight is divided on the decision, they go talk to the Prime Minster for advice.

In real life, while the Prime Minister’s Office couldn’t officially endorse the comic they were fine with the idea of a comic book portrayal of his character.

Probably because it’s something that’s already happened in the Trudeau family. Former Prime Minister Pierre Trudeau graced the pages of “Uncanny X-Men” in 1979.
