How could we not pick Matt Forchuk as the Mountain FM Canmore Eagles Player of the Month for October? With 17 points (6G, 11A) in nine games, Matt not only leads the team but currently leads the entire league in scoring. In his third and final season in an Eagles uniform Forchuk is proving that the offensive spark he ignited last year was no fluke. He’s the kind of player that makes everyone else on the ice around him better. In my opinion he’s as exciting to watch on the ice as Mark Bomersback was when he was shattering league scoring records in an Eagles uniform in the early 2000s. And it’s not just fans who have taken notice – Forchuk has just committed to play for the Quinnipiac Bobcats next season, one of the top teams in the NCAA.

Matt told me playing hockey in Canmore has been the best time of his life.

Best of luck with the rest of the season Matt!  You can see this dynamic player and the rest of the offensively gifted Canmore Eagles in three more home games this month on November 11th, 12th, and 15th.  Enter to win tickets to those games through our Locals VIP Club.
