With the Calgary-Canmore Olympic bid dead in the water after this week’s plebiscite vote, Tanya and I talk about what may have missed the mark with the public when it came to messaging and the enthusiasm level from various levels of government.  We also discuss whether the bid was wasted money.

So what does it mean for Canmore?  We discuss why building affordable housing on the proposed Athletes Village site will be much more challenging without Olympic funding and why that money won’t be coming our way without the bid.  We also talk about the goal of attaining resort municipality funding and why this would have been a hard sell to the province even with the Games.
