It was really more of a question of “when”, not “if”, Alex Young would be selected as Mountain FM’s Canmore Eagles Player of the Month.  The team’s leading scorer and consistently in the Top 10 of league scoring (sitting in the #7 spot today with 48 points), Alex had a stellar month in December, putting up 14 points (5G, 9A) in 8 games on the ice.

The one Eagles game he missed in December was due to attending the Team Canada West selection camp.  And although both he and teammate Max Giangualano didn’t make the cut, he told me the experience sparked him to become an ever better player.  And although he’s committed to Colgate Universary, Alex told me we’ll likely see him in an Eagles uniform for one more season after this one.

Congratulations Alex, and thanks for being such an integral part of the Eagles’ strong season!
