Today we’ve once again invited a number of special guests to join us on air throughout the day to help us raise awareness of the Canmore and Area Health Care Foundation and everything they do to support our local health care system.

Carolyn Henry wears many hats as both the manager of our local Home Care program and the Canmore Hospital’s Cancer Clinic. We spoke about the real difference these two initiatives make in the lives of people who need them as well as the support the Foundation gives for staff professional development.

Adele Folliott is a recreational therapist at the Canmore General Hospital and runs the Opening Minds through Art program.  She talks about the positive impact that art can have on people living with dementia and how the Canmore and Area Health Care Foundation supports what they do.

Dr. Gert Du Plessis is the Chief of Staff at the Canmore General Hospital, but to many locals he’s the first face their baby likely saw in the delivery room.  While he’s moving away from practicing obstetrics, he was able to speak with me about the difference the new Labour and Delivery rooms have made to new families, the growth of this service at the Canmore Hospital, and how the Foundation supports needs and projects at the Hospital both large and small.

Andrei Dandridge-Evancio loves making a difference in people’s lives through music.  We spoke about the Foundation-supported Music Therapy program at the Canmore Hospital.

Carol Duncan is a long-term employee in our local health care system. She spoke with Marcus Williams about the difference the Canmore and Area Health Care Foundation makes improving the quality of health care in the Bow Valley.

Deanna Thompson runs the popular, Foundation-supported Mindfulness program. We had a great conversation about the myriad of benefits meditation can have in a person’s life and how to get on the wait list for the next available free program. She also led me in a reinvigorating mindfulness meditation live on air!

Thanks to all our special guests and thanks to the Canmore and Area Health Care Foundation for the great work they do in our community!
