On Tuesday, in front of a packed gallery, Canmore council heard a presentation from the Alberta Government regarding the surprise decision on the alignment of the Smith Creek Wildlife Corridor that came down late last week.

On yesterday’s show I spoke with Dr. Hilary Young from the Yellowstone to Yukon Conservation Initiative regarding the decision – you can listen to that interview here.  On today’s program, David Taylor from the landowner Three Sisters Mountain Village was my special guest.  We spoke about the changes between the alignment that was rejected in 2018 and the new version which their scientists and government biologists believe will allow for effective wildlife movement on that side of the valley.  We also talked about the next steps forward with the Area Structure Plan they’re working on for both Smith Creek and the Resort Centre.
